Bowling Fun

You may have noticed the new lady sitting by Sister Mary this morning. But you may not have heard her prayer request. She has just moved to Crossville, is in a local hotel, and is looking for a rental. If you have ideas, please share with Pastor Tim.

Reminder- Middlers group ages 18ish to M&Ms group 75ish meet at Plateau Lanes at 5:00 pm for bowling. Need a ride? Call Pastor Tim.

When you arrive tomorrow morning, please take a walk around the church and check out the beautiful mulching and landscaping. We owe a debt of gratitude to Tom and Margie. They were out in the hot sun several days this past week working to spruce up the church grounds, and they've done a great job!

We will be receiving new members into our church on Sunday, August 25th. We have six precious friends already committed. If you would like to become an "official" member of Homestead Church, please talk to Pastor Tim as soon as possible.

It's that time again! Food Pantry weekend! The festivities kick off at 5:00 pm tomorrow with unpacking and sorting. Saturday morning at 7:30 we gather for a light breakfast, and the doors open at 8:00 to bless us with the opportunity to serve our neighbors and community! Come on out!

From HUMC- Sad news to report this morning. Cathy let us know that our dear sweet Maureen Staley passed away during the night. Her daughter Jan found her in bed this morning. I will update as I hear more info. (Pastor Tim)

Don't forget! Second Harvest truck will be here today around 10:30. Several of our regulars are unavailable today. So we need help, please! You probably tire of me begging constantly, but this is a job for several people. One or two cannot do it. How about it? 10:30 at Homestead! Thank you!

Today, we will say "see you later" to our good friend and parishioner Ron Tucker. The service will be at 2:00 in the Homestead sanctuary. Visitation with family and friends preceding the service from 1:00-2:00.

Bowling, Bowling, Bowling! Sunday evening, August 18th at 5:00 pm, all ages from college age up to M&Ms age will visit Plateau Lanes in Crossville. This will be a joint event with our sister church, Dorton UMC. Child care, if needed, will be provided at Homestead by the church youth on a donation basis. Pass the word! Sounds like a fun time!

Don't forget! Sunday at 11! You won't be disappointed!

**BIG NEWS** Our choir has been invited perform during Gospel Night and the Cumberland County Fair Wednesday August 28th!! There will be other choirs from around the community performing as well!! They've asked us to prepare two songs for the performance and we will be performing in front of 1,500 - 2,000 people!! 🤯🤯🤯 With all that being said, we want to send out a big invitation to anyone who's been considering joining the choir!! We would love to have you on board, even if it's just for this event!! The more voices the better!! This is such a huge blessing and opportunity!! God is really working within our church! I can't believe just 8 months ago we formed the first choir in approx 20 years and we've come this far already!! God is good....!!

Did you happen to notice the brand new American flag flying on the pole out in front of the church? Thanks to Shawn and Teresa Denton, we're flying a flag that flew over the United States Senate in Washington! "It's a Grand 'New' Flag!"

Reminder- James Ronald (Ron) Tucker's memorial service will be held at Homestead Church this Saturday, August 3rd at 2:00 pm. Visitation with the family will take place from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.

I'm begging again! We have only 15 backpacks for our food pantry back to school giveaway. I checked the Walmart sale ad. They are supposed to have backpacks for $4.96, and Walgreens has them "buy one, get one free." Thanks again for all your help! (Pastor Tim)
